Senior Consultant

Lisa Harris, OT

Lisa Harris is one of the founders of Healthworks Ergonomics. She has been helping people with their ergonomics for over 20 years.

She is a licensed occupational therapist and as she was treating patients early in her career, she realized that many of the injuries she treated were entirely preventable. She incorporated ergonomic training and evaluations into her practice because of the amazing results. She also began working with employers to provide ergonomics for their employees.

She has helped thousands of people avoid injuries, reduce aches and pains and work comfortably.

Getting Comfortable at Work was developed based on her experience providing ergonomics to individuals both at work and at home. Lisa believes that everyone who uses a computer should have access to professional ergonomic guidance.

Testimonials

"I'm 6'6 and I generally have to move though life ducking and slouching to fit into whatever space is provided for me."

"Before coming to work at [my current company], I'd never had a workspace set up to fit me. I was surprised at the decrease in pain and stiffness at the end of the work day. There was a noticeable difference in my productivity and energy level."

"It caused me to reconsider my home environment, and I purchased a new desk for my home office based on the specifications provided by the Healthworks Ergo consultant that assisted me."

“Just want to thank you for all your assistance with my ergonomics problem. You were incredibly kind and helpful, and I have recommended you to others."

"I have absolutely no regrets about buying the Steelcase chair. Although I probably could have spent less, it’s been an incredible investment. I say that because it truly has been an investment in my health, not an ‘expense’."

"I have applied the guidance you gave me and I have improved so much!"

"Thank you so much for your kindness, caring, excellent customer service and extremely helpful information. You are just the best!"

Frequently Asked Questions

  • I don’t have any pain or medical problems, will I still benefit from this program?

Absolutely. Ergonomics will help you prevent pain and injuries from even starting. You will learn things that you can use for the rest of your life.

  • I work in a home office. Will this course still help me?

Yes. We will show you things you need to know for your home office that you wouldn’t necessarily need at a company office. We will also teach you how to work at the dining room table, on the couch and standing at the kitchen counter.

  • I already bought a new chair, can you work with what I have?

Yes. We will work with the furniture you have and help you adjust it for the best fit. We will also talk about when to add accessories like a back rest or footrest to your chair.

  • I need to stick to a budget. If I need new furniture/equipment, will I be able to do that?

Yes! We first teach you to work with what you have. If you still need to buy something, we teach you what to look for and our furniture shopping guides offer suggestions in different price ranges.

  • I want to use a standing desk, what do you recommend?

First, we will help you understand the pros and cons of standing to make sure that is a good option for you. Then, based on your budget, space and other factors, our shopping guides will help you select the right desk to meet those needs.

  • What if I am moving? Should I wait to sign up?

This program will help you plan your workspace, so we recommend taking it before you move or change your office. Plus, you have access to the materials for one year, so you can take advantage now and review it again when you are settled in.
